We’re so excited to kick off our very first Mom of the Month Spotlight—a brand-new series celebrating the incredible moms in our community who are making a difference in big and small ways.
Our May spotlight goes to Dr. Mindy Altemose, a local mom of four and the inspiring orthodontist behind Mansfield Orthodontics. As part of her nomination, the person who submitted her was asked: “If you could tell this mom one thing, what would it be?”—the answer was simple and heartfelt:

Dr. Mindy Altemose is the dynamic force behind Mansfield Orthodontics—and at home, she’s a proud and busy mom of four: Warner (9 ½), Whitney (7 ½), Walter (2 ½), and baby Wanda (7 months), alongside her husband and true partner, Anthony. Balancing a growing family and a thriving practice is no small feat, and Dr. Mindy credits her ability to do so to an amazing team and support at home.
After earning her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania and completing her Orthodontic Specialty at the University of Buffalo, Dr. Mindy was determined to open her own practice where she could offer top-tier care using the latest technology. Anthony, a Boston native, and Dr. Mindy chose to settle in Mansfield—a town whose small, close-knit community resonated with her values. Mansfield Orthodontics opened just before the COVID-19 shutdown, and although the timing posed challenges, the practice steadily grew, helping countless patients "Smile Boldly."
Giving back to the community is central to Dr. Mindy's mission. She actively supports and sponsors local initiatives such as Cans for Cookies, the Girl Scout Cookie Drive, Toys for Tots, Touch a Truck, and more. Mansfield Orthodontics also donates to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation for every new patient—a meaningful way to support New England cancer patients and their families with both financial aid and hope.
Her passion for family extends into her practice design as well. As a mother, Dr. Mindy prioritized the needs of other moms by including a dedicated nursing and pumping room, as well as family-friendly amenities like a changing table—simple touches often overlooked in medical offices.
Outside the office, Dr. Mindy is often found on the sidelines cheering for her kids at hockey, ice skating, baseball, softball, ballet, soccer, and lacrosse. The family also enjoys exploring local parks, events, and attractions. A true Disney fan at heart, Dr. Mindy loves to sing while she works, infusing joy into every part of her day.
The mantra on the wall at Mansfield Orthodontics—“Spread Joy and Smile Boldly”—is more than a motto. It’s a reflection of Dr. Mindy herself: vibrant, caring, and committed to making her corner of the world a little brighter through creating big bold smiles.
